Services and Policies

The library media center at Westside Elementary serves approximately 550 students in Pre-K through Second Grade. The library has over 10,000 books, numerous DVD titles, and two networked computers. There are over 600 e-books available through links on the Web Resources page. In addition, the library has five sets of ipad minis available for classroom checkout. Destiny, the automated library catalog and circulation program, can be accessed from any computer in the library, by teachers in their classrooms, or students at home through the link on the Web Resources page.

Library Policies
  • Books may be checked out for two weeks and may be renewed as needed.
  • Kindergarten students may check out one book per week during their assigned classroom time.
  • First grade students may check out one book each day.
  • Second grade students may check out two books each day.
  • Students are responsible for the care and safe return of all books checked out from the library media center.
  • No fines are charged for overdue books. However, students must pay to replace lost or damaged books.
