Westside Elementary School is partnering with the Kappa Xi chapter of the Phi Mu sorority at the University of West Alabama by collecting bottle caps to donate to Mexico’s Health Foundation program “Tapas de Vida” – Bottles of Life. This charity benefits children in Mexico by granting children free chemo treatments for children with cancer. The tops are given to factories, so they can be molded and repurposed. By recycling the tops, resources are obtained to finance medical treatments for children who suffer from cancer. There are currently 350 children who are receiving treatment from this foundation.
